Church of Santa Maria. Guimerà (Lleida. Spain)
Spain
Church of Santa Maria. On a large rock stands the church that was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and started at a time of growth of the town by the lords Guerau Alemany de Cervelló and his wife, Geralda de Rocabertí. Their shields are still on the cover, decorated with gothic elements and sculpted in the access capitals. The plant is of Latin cross and the bell tower of square plant, which rose at the end of the 14th and 15th century. During the year 1955 an intervention was made to recover part of the Neogothic apse wall and a point of observation. Information source www.guimera.cat
