A 200' aerial view from the top of The Whaleback (elev. 8,528') near Grass Lake, California.  The mountain is forest-covered all the way to the summit & has a couple shallow craters.  From here above the trees one gets a nice view of Mt. Shasta to the south, though it is mostly in the clouds.  To the west is the Shasta Valley, to the north is Goosenest & Herd Peak & to the east is Haight Mountain & Ash Creek Butte.
