Colwyn Bay old pier and beach
Wales

The old pier in Colwyn Bay has seen better days. It is all boarded up and looks pretty dire. Then again it is on a beautiful stretch of beach which goes all the way from Penrhyn Bay via Ros-on-sea to Colwyn Bay - about 5km of beach and promnade. And given the right angle and the right weather the pier doesn't look too daunting.

Out in the sea you can just about see the rows of wind turbines of the offshore wind farms found along the coast.
