The historic town hall in Dettelbach was built in the period from 1484 to 1512 in late Gothic style and rebuilt again and again. Initially, it housed the seat of the City Council; later, rooms were created in the passage for a fire and slaughterhouse. Then quartered the city library. The upper floors served as a school and office space. After a comprehensive renovation (1986 to 1990), the building is used as a town hall again.
