Dubrovnik is a town in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. Although there are new and modern parts of Dubrovnik, the old town is the area Dubrovnik is world famous for and it joined the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979. Historically Dubrovnik was based on maritime trade but it became a tourist attraction in the late 19th century, when the first hotel was build. One of its main attractions is the completely preserved wall around the city, which width varies between up to 6m on the landside and a minimum of 1-2m on the seaside. The construction circumvents the complete old town and is approx. 2 km long. It is completely accessible for walking around.
From this point of the wall you have a nice overview of the harbor of Dubrovnik on the west end of the town. It is still used by some fisherman, but touristic attractions are more important today. The harbor itself is surrounded by bars and restaurants.
