Duona located between 300 and 600 meters above sea level on the mountainside, was also known as "Duzishe” during the Japanese Occupation period. It is one of the oldest indigenous tribes in Taiwan. The façade of Duona Community Center depicts the history of the tribal settlement in the village. According to senior members of the tribe, the settlement began when a hunter and his dog went hunting in today's Duona Village. The dog lingered in the riparian swamp and did not want to return to their tribal home. The hunter took this as a sign that it was a good place to live in and led his tribe to settle down in Duona Village. Now, the activity center is a venue where various events are held and where the tribal people get together.
