John Rae Kirkwall Orkney
Scotland

This is the memorial to John Rae in St. Magnus Cathedral.

John Rae was an arctic explorer and found the fate of the Franklin Expedition. He also found the final link of the North West Passage so that ships could sail from the Atlantic to the Pacific via route to the north of Canada (in the summer months).
