Katowice - Monument of the Polish Soldier - view from the square
Poland

Monument of the Polish Soldier that commemorates Poles fighting in World War II. The monument was unveiled on October 6th, 1978. It is located on an artificially constructed hill, weighs 80 tons and is made of patinated bronze according to a design of a sculptor Bronisław Chromy and an architect Jerzy Pilitowski.

This is one of the largest monuments in the area of Upper Silesia.
