King Alfreds Tower
England

king Alfred's Tower is a brick built folly,lying 2 miles north-west of the famous Stourhead Garden. The  50m,red brick triangular tower was built in 1762. Henry Hoare II  commissioned the building to be built to commemorate King Alfred's Victory over the Danes, at the battle of Edington 879AD. The tower folly is situated at the end of a grass, tree lined vista.
