Lardner's Point Pumping Station
Philadelphia

Built in 1906 to supply Delaware River water to about half of Philadelphia, this was the world's largest pumping station.  It is still operating, at a fraction of original capacity, powered by electricity instead of steam.  Just North is the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, built in 1929.
