Lohr am Main - Castle and Palace Square
Franconie

The landmarked castle with four towers is also called Kurmainzer Castle. 1340 began the counts of Rieneck with the construction. Since the late 15th century, the castle surrounded a moat and a castle wall - still well preserved. After the death of the last Count of Rieneck the electors of Mainz took over the castle. From then the castle acquired its present shape.
