Manaure Balcon del Cesar is one of the 25 municipalities of the department of Cesar, Colombia. Bordered on the north by the department of La Guajira, to the south and west by the municipality of La Paz and east with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. It is recognized in the region for its mild climate. It has an annual rainfall of 1361 mm.

Its head is the namesake town in nearby basin that forms the Manaure river at an altitude of 775 meters. It was founded in 1875 by Mr. Buenaventura Maya, who grazed their cattle around the City of La Paz. The name of the town comes from a prestigious and noble chief of the Venezuelan region of the West, beyond the eastern shore of Lake Maracaibo. Location
