Miaotong Temple
Taiwan

The Miaotong Temple at Liouguei District was established by the much-respected monk Master Guangcin and his followers in 1981. The temple is one of the branches of the Chengtian Zen Temple and is one of the three major Buddhist temples in the region. One may enjoy total Zen tranquility as the temple sits in a valley and is well-surrounded by mountains and the Laonong Stream. The simple but beautifully-designed landscape and layout of the solemn temple buildings seem to present the Buddhists’ belief in heaven. This temple has been a major religious attraction. In addition, there is a market selling locally-grown produce at the gate.
