Ongii river near to Ongiin Kiid - MONGOLIA
Mongolia

There are only three rivers that cross the Gobi desert in Mongolia. The life of nearly 100,000 nomadic shepherds depends on the water of these three rivers and the main one is the river Ongii which comes from the mountains of the Ovorckhangai. On the banks of the river there are still the ruins of the Ongiin Kiid, an important Buddhist temple.
