St. Conan's Kirk , Lochawe , Argyll , Scotland
Scotland

Nested on the banks of Loch Awe , St.Conan's Kirk was designed and built by Walter Douglas Campbell between 1881 & 1886 . It was constructed using granite from nearby Cruachan and the wooden beams for the roof are believed to have been taken from old wooden battleships that had recently been broken up .

Saint Conan was believed to have live in Glen Orchy after having arrived from Ireland . There is a near life size effigy of St.Conan at the chapel and also a well named after him near Dalmally .
