The House Of Soviets Tyumen.

History.

The house of Soviets was built in 1964 for the Tyumen regional Executive Committee. A construction contractor was the construction management of the internal Affairs of the Tyumen regional Executive Committee. Before the construction was demolished commercial buildings of the former Marketplace. The building was fully commissioned in 1964.

Tyumen regional Executive Committee occupied the building until the early 1990-ies, after its abolition in the building at present is the Tyumen regional Duma.

Architecture.

The house of Soviets in Tyumen in architectural terms is an example of the transition from Stalin to Khrushchev monumental functionalism. The building is a crucial element of the ensemble of the Central square and framing square on the South side.

In the center of the facade overlooking the square is the projection that marks the main entrance to the building with portals. On the facade of Windows alternating with pilasters, decorated on top with stucco images. Under the cornice is an entablature, in the center is the inscription "HOUSE of the SOVIETS". Also the center of the building is crowned by a parapet with coat of arms of the USSR.
