Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) is a privately owned airline operating in the Maldives. It operates seaplanes to the resort islands and acts almost like a "taxi" service for the visiting tourists. The "barefoot pilots" in the 24 Twin Otter planes transport around 400.000 passengers per year! The planes fly at relatively low altitude and the view of the turqoise blue atolls and scattered islands is just magnificent!
