I spent the first weekend of October, 2015 hiking the Lamarck Lakes trail on a summit bid on Mt. Lamarck. The first night had me camping at Upper Lamarck Lake, pictured here after having set up my tent and watching the peaks glow red during a cloudless sunset. This lake also afforded me quick but successful fishing, landing two trout, the first likely being the largest I've ever landed. There's nothing quite like being solo in the mountains with no one around and only what you can fit in your backpack, it's a feeling that keeps me coming back time and again to experience nature so intimately.
