Zapiecek is a short and relatively wide street. Rather, it is kind of square, between the south-western corner Main Market and Piwna street - an extension of the Piekarska st. This street was called once (1743) Poprzeczna (transverse). The extension of this street to the square of its current form dates back to 1831 when the building collapsed at Swietojanska st and was not rebuilt. Zapiecek name dates back to 1770. In the XIX century took place Zapiecek very popular in the Warsaw market pigeons and songbirds.
