Wollaberg - Parish Church Saint Ägidius Interior
Germany

In church terms originally branch of Waldkirchen, was Wollaberg 1751 Expositur, received its own pastor and was in 1767 parish vicariate. The present church was extended and rebuilt several times. In 1641, the former church was already very dilapidated, which was built around 1500 on another church. But it was not until 1650, when the adjoining house of judges burned down by arson and also cremated the church, that the church was rebuilt with the help of the remaining foundations. In 1807, a new building was sought, as this church was too small for 2,000 souls, but was rejected because the secularization was still in progress. In 1844 the construction started. There were some plans one hand cultivation, complete demolition or, as then executed to leave the tower and nave (nave was then used as a presbytery) and expand the church to the west and the nave with the aisles to the east. Unfortunately, valuable, old votive images were sold to finance this building. On August 25, 1845, Bishop Heinrich von Hofstätter consecrated the new church. Since 1895, the parish Wollaberg exists.

This church has undergone several changes in the interior design. In 1895 it was painted in the neo-Gothic style, which in turn was painted in 1935 and some facilities were removed. In 1971, a complete modernization was carried out, whereby much of the old furnishings were destroyed and the last remains of the paintings were painted over. Then in 2000, they remembered the original painting and began reconstructing it and restored it for the most part.

More About Germany

Germany? Before the beginning there was Ginnungagap, an empty space of nothingness, filled with pure creative power. (Sort of like the inside of my head.)And it ends with Ragnarok, the twilight of the Gods. In between is much fighting, betrayal and romance. Just as a good Godly story should be.Heroes have their own graveyard called Valhalla. Unfortunately we cannot show you a panorama of it at this time, nor of the lovely Valkyries who are its escort service.Hail Odin, wandering God wielding wisdom and wand! Hail Freya, hail Tyr, hail Thor!Odin made the many lakes and the fish in them. In his traverses across the lands he caused there to be the Mulheim Bridge in Cologne, as did he make the Mercury fountain, Mercury being of his nature. But it is to the mighty Thor that the Hammering Man gives service.Between the time of the Nordic old ones and that of modern Frankfort there may have been a T.Rex or two on the scene. At least some mastodons for sure came through for lunch, then fell into tar pits to become fossils for us to find. And there we must leave you, O my most pure and holy children.Text by Steve Smith.
