قصر مارد: تعتبر قلعة مارد بدومة الجندل من ابرز الآثار القائمة في شمال السعودية ، وأعظمها شموخاً وارتفاعاً، ذكر ياقوت الحموي في كتابه "معجم البلدان" أن مارد بكسر الراء والدال ، والمارد والمريد كل شي تمرد واستعصى ومرد الشي أي اعتاد وطغى. وتاريخ هذه القلعة كما يرجعه العلماء يعود إلى القرن الثالث الميلادي وفيه الأبلق. قالت الزباء ملة تدمر حين غزتها واستعصى فتحها عليها: (تمرد مارد وعز الأبلق) والأبلق قصر في تيماء سمي بهذا الاسم لاختلاف ألوان أحجاره التي بني بها. The Marid Castle: Qasr Marid in Dumat at Jandal is considered as the most prominent antiquity of northern Saudi Arabia. It was built on a high sandstone hill. Yaqut al-Hamawy mentioned it in his book " Muajam al-Buldan", "Marid means the rebellion". The date of this palace , as mentioned by scholars, is attributed to the third century AD. It is said that az-Zabba'(Zenobia) the queen of Tadmur, attempted to conquer the palace during the third century AD, but failed to do so.
