The Village Pleš in West Bohemia had 700 inhabitants in the 1930s. After 1945, the village was abandoned and deserted. Today only a roadhouse and the old cemetery are left over.

The “Free State of Bavaria” is renowned for being culturally unique and for the emphasis which it places on preserving its heritage and traditions.
