The Pano gives a view of the old engine housing of the Aftersteg Ski Lift, the Langmattlift - Black Forest.
The Ski Lift was built in 1968 by the Swiss Ski Lift Company WSO Walter Städeli Oetwil, Zürich, Switzerland. The lift itself has 6 Standards constructed in zinc coated lattice work - still free of any corrosion - Swiss Made.
The Engine is an Electric Motor with a power of 30 KW. It gives the power to the big cable wheel which you can see at the zenith of the Pano with the help of a V-Belt to a Gear Box and then to the Big Cable Wheel.
WSO was sold in 1991 to the Garaventa Group (Doppelmayr) but all the spare parts for the lift are still available: Swiss Service and Quality. Pictures of WSO Lifts you can find here. Jörg Schwan is the Technical or Operations Manager of the Langmattlift.
You can see Markus Albrecht handing the Children the T-bar. Families, Children but also Ski Clubs with their Race Teams are coming to the Aftersteg Ski Lift for recreation or training.
To the right you see part of the nice and simple Kiosk of the Ski Lift where you can have a Pause and as well your Après Ski, especially when you think about the fact, that every Euro you spend is used for the Lift and the Maintainence of the Skiing Slopes.
Markus an his Team, all of them are working for free !
