Amoreiras
Lisbon
The Amoreiras neighborhood is located in the heart of Lisbon, it is a residential area for the upper-middle class par excellence. It has a great tradition of commerce, being especially known for the Centro Comercial das Amoreiras, the first shopping center to be born in the portuguese capital. The Amoreiras Shopping Center is a meeting point for the Alfacinhas, Lisbon's natural people are called Alfacinhas, and one of the places, the Amoreiras Shopping Centre, gives the neighborhood more dynamism. There is a strong connection between the residents of Amoreiras and Campo de Ourique to the shopping center. There are several luxury hotels, Jardim das Amoreiras, a green haven of tranquility in the middle of the city. It is also in Amoreiras that the Águas Livres Aqueduct ends, and it is worth visiting Mãe D'Água, its final destination. In this neighborhood, it is common to see families walking or shopping. This is an area chosen by politicians, artists and journalists, both to live and socialize. This is considered one of the city's neighborhoods with the best quality of life, not forgetting Parque das Nações.
