Situated on a narrow peninsula between Bass Strait and Anderson Inlet, the small town of Venus Bay is approx. 160 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The town has a permanent population of about 500 which soares into the thousands during summer months. The small town is popular for fishing, boating, bushwalking in Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, and has some good surf beaches.

Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
