Arizona Sonora Desert Musuem, Tucson, Arizona USA
Tucson
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, located just west of Tucson, Arizona, is a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one place. At 2840 feet above sea level, the Museum offers a typical desert environment with summer temperatures averaging 87 days each year where the temperature is 100° F or higher, but with extras that are anything but typical. The Museum has interpretive displays of living animals and plants native to the Sonoran Desert -- an arid desert region in the southern parts of Arizona and California in the United States and the northern parts of the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California. On a typical spring day the Desert Museum welcomes 2,500 visitors and 200 school children. Annual visitation has been around 460,000. The Museum is open every day of the year. This panorama shows one of the many exhibits and the pathways through the huge natural area.
