The museum stands not just as a memorial but as a record of the history of our nation. from Maori to European journeys, to the history of colonization and the impact of different ethnicities on  this land that we all inhabit.

We term ourselves a multi-ethnic nation, I hope and pray that ethic will continue and the struggle of the men and women that this place commemorates will not have been in vain.
