Avenue of the Dead at Midday
Mexico
The Aztecs were in awe when they discovered the ruins of Teotihuacan nearby and thought that the city was once inhabited by giants. The Avenue of the Dead is so named because the smaller pyramids on either side of it were once thought to be the tombs of those giants.
