I was lucky enough to catch this American Bald Eagle in two of the shots used for this pano.  The eagle spent about half an hour soaring, gliding, and fishing over the Tidal Basin.  The eagle was a great hit for those around the Tidal Basin when he actually caught a fish.

The area of the Tidal Basin is within a quarter of a mile of the flight path for Reagan National Airport and the basin itself is on the major north south helicopter route so he is in a well traveled area.
