Hôtel de Ville - XVe siècle et 1733 - 1, place de la cathédrale
Ce bâtiment a été le haut lieu d'exercice des juridictions civiles. Le pouvoir judiciaire du roi est probablement représenté dans la cité depuis le XIIIe siècle. Bazas est jusqu'à la fin du XVIIIe siècle le siège de plusieurs juridictions : celle du prévôt royal, celle du sénéchal, secondé par ses lieutenants civils et criminels, puis celle du présidial, à partir de 1553. La bâtiment abrite aussi la prison au rez-de-chausée. Le siège de la juridicion de l'évêque, qui, en tant que seigneure de Bazas, détient la haute et basse justice, est quant à lui au chapitre de l'église Saint-Martin, édifice détruit durant la Révolution.
