Cornello dei Tasso is a very small village with only medieval buildings: it is one of the best preserved in Lombardy and deserves an attention much larger than its size. The small church visible in the 360 photo is dedicated to St Cornelio and St Cipriano. In this small village was born in 13th century the modern postal service invented by Tasso family. The horseback service was initially estabilished for the Venetian Republic. It expanded later in many states, covering most of European countries and including the Holy Roman Empire under Maximilian 1st. Subsequently a branch of the Tasso family migrated to Germany giving birth to the "Thurn und Taxis" Princely House.
