Black Rock Sands - Morpha Bychan - Wales
Wales

Black Rock Sands (Treflys) forms part of Morpha Bychan near Porthmadog. One of the most beautiful beaches in North Wales and which is firm enough to be driven on.

Pictured here at dusk in May, Black Rock Sands boasts miles of open beach and often impressive skies, it is frequently described as the pefect holiday beach and it is said that it was one of the beaches that inspired the painter Turner.

Wonderful place for cloudspotters!

Criccieth castle can just be seen in the distance. It remains one of the most popular beaches for families.
