Bregenz is an Austrian town at the eastern end of Lake Constance, also known as Bodensee. It is the capital of the Vorarlberg region. It is a charming region with medieval air and incredible landscapes on the triple border between Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Bregenz, the lakeside town combines culture and nature with modernity and tradition in a unique way. Among the natural features, the most striking is the meeting of Lake Constance with the Pfänder mountain, a combination that offers the most spectacular views of the region's landscapes. In Bregenz there are numerous events throughout the year, but since 1946 the Bregenz Festival has been an integral part of the city. It really is the big event, with opera and music performances outdoors on a floating stage, Seebühne, equipped with the latest technology on the shores of Lake Constance, is the Bregenzer Festspiele.
