Cafe Volio toaster at the main factory
Central America

Café Volio was established on April 1938 in Costa Rica's Central Market by Mr. Federico Volio, who passed the company down to his son-in-law Mr. Roberto Sáenz. During the 1950's the coffee industry in Costa Rica begins to grow at a rapid pace, forcing Mr. Sáenz to move his business elsewhere. Mr. Sáenz buys a more spacious establishment north from the Central Market, place where Distribuidora Volio S.A. still operates today.
