A 150' aerial view over Callahan, California, established around 1851 & today having a population of less than 50 residents. There are a few historic buildings along Highway 3 including a bar & emporium & the town was known for the last lynching in California, taking place in 1947, though evidence of it remains a mystery. Large dredge tailings just north of town reflect the immense placer mining in the area.
