CANYON COMBEIMA
Combeima Canyon is located on the eastern side of the Cordillera Central between 1400 and 4200 m . The journey to the canyon is 18 km , starting from the Plaza de Bolivar, in the center of Ibague, to the village of Juntas , along the banks of the river Combeima . In its edges farm agritourism as the Riviera tourism project which is accessed by a cable car is located.
The latter has about 50 waterfalls and other smaller sources in the narrow valleys and steep banks up to 90 degrees, that expose large rock walls having pure Canyon , presenting a wonderful landscape tourist region . Influenced by the borders of the Natural Nevados National Park and the high Andean forests that remain , the Canyon is considered a strategic ecosystem of the city.
The Rio Combeima has its birth in the Nevado del Tolima volcano is located in the Central Andes of Colombia in the city of Ibague , Tolima .
The snow today has an ice cap with an area of 2.3 km2 and a volume of 69 million cubic meters. The main access to the volcano is done starting from Ibague city to the area of El Silencio , passing through the villages of Restrepo, pastures and Seals . Thereafter several roads leading to the top is off . It is considered by the Volcanological Observatory of Manizales as an "active volcano stable.
In this circuit you can enjoy eco- tourism activities such as hiking , horseback riding, bird watching, adventure sports equally as high ropes , rock climbing and hiking, among other activities.
In its vicinity the TOLIMA RANCHO SPRINGS , tourist site containing some wonderful natural hot cabins, camping areas , fishing and also a majestic panorama of snowy Tolima is located.
