This panorama was taken at the first overlook of the Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park. It is a medium exhausting trail but it unveils a nice view over the Upheaval Dome, a crater.
Canyonlands National Park for me is a kind of Grand Canyon "light". It is surely not as big as the Grand Canyon, but it unveils similar views and it is much easier to experience. And of couse it is not as packed as Grand Canyon in respect of number of visitors.
A visit to Canyonlands can be easily combined with Arches National Park which is right "around the corner", but you will need a full day just for visiting the easy to get areas.
