It is in Silifke District, Mersin. The fortress, which is dated to the 12th century, can be reached through a 3- km, asphalt road that turns right before the Palaiai junction. The southern walls of the fortress stand on a high cliff. The fortress overlooks the whole Göksu Delta and Taşucu Town. It is a typical Middle Age fortress with its semi-circular bastions. After the rule of the Byzantine Empire and Armenian Kingdom, it was taken under control by the Order of Hospitallers in 1210.
