The magnificent painting of the dome is one of the few preserved tempera paintings in Mexico and which enshrines the triumph of the Eucharist, is the work of Baroque painter Cristobal de Villalpando made in the year of 1688.
The fourth body and top up, oil paint of Virgin Mary Coronation by the Holy Trinity placed between twin columns of the composite order, the large central area is comprised of the second and third body with twisted columns.
The other two, located at the base of the altar, refer to the Kings Adoration and the Shepherds Adoration, with the image of Bishop Palafox between them.
