Chateau Chalon
France

Proudly perched atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the vineyard, Château Chalon is a picturesque village with high winegrowers' houses, which were often the homes of former abbesses.


Let yourself be guided through the streets, to discover the church of Saint Peter which dates from the twelfth century and dates back some of its constructive elements in the First Age of Roman Art in Franche Comte. Facing the church, the house "The Cold Gear" listed building with its inverted frame nef (XVI) is Devendues a museum. You can also go under the porch of entry of the former Benedictine Abbey founded according to legend in the seventh century, and reserved for noble girls. You will then discover the school of old, and a beautiful gazebo.

Your tour of Chateau Chalon can continue with the ruins of the medieval keep the XIII century. Chateau Chalon also mentioned something else that this ancient Benedictine abbey of: Appellation of Origin of Château Chalon. The vineyard is special is that which produces the famous Vin Jaune.
