The Chengcing Lake is the largest lake and an important tourist spot in Kaohsiung City. The Nine-Curve Bridge in the lake’s Scenic Area was named for its nine turns along the bridge route. Built in 1960, the bridge is 230 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. It has seven support pillars and a gray and simple yet classic structure. It was designed after the Nine-Curve Bridge at the Chenghuang Temple in Shanghai. Strolling on the bridge, visitors may sense a nostalgic Chinese ambiance while enjoying the magnificent surrounding landscape. It is a romantic place where the reflection of the bridge at night is just too good to be missed.
