Cloister Schöntal convent building 2011
Baden-Wuerttemberg

"Kloster Schöntal" was founded in the middle of the 12th Century by monks of the Cistercian abbey "Maulbronn". The convent wing dates from 1706 (monastery library). Another gem is the "New Abbey", a castle-like building that embodies the representational needs of the abbots. A permanent exhibition informs visitors about the history Schöntal monastery.
