It is 35 km to the north of Mut District, Mersin. The fact that the city, whose name in antiquity was Coropissos, is located on the ancient road coming from Karaman down to Silifke indicates the importance attributed to the city. Having ruins of fortification walls and bastions surrounding it, the antique city has a semi-domed church with three naves, a semi-dome and an apse. Emperor Zeno had this church built to honor his second coronation. The three of life and several animal figures and geometrical figures hang on its branches are represented in the floor mosaic found in the antique city. The three Heroon type tombs located nearby are quite deformed. There is a necropolis hosting rock-tombs located in the valley to the south of the Neighborhood.
