Corunna, Capitania Square
Northern Spain

Located in the ancient square of flour, now divided into square Azcarraga andConstitution Square, is part of the Old City which in the twelfth century Alfonso IXgranted defense. The neoclassical Palace of Captaincy General, designed by engineer John Vergel stands out as one of the first public buildings which includes the city's coat of arms carved in stone and architectural design which is based on clarityand rationality in the forms. Form, along with the Plaza de Azcarraga is surroundedby a series of gardens in the romantic style. This building originally hosted theheadquarters of the Royal Court of Galicia.
