Craggy spot just below the South Summit of Mt. Jefferson
Nevada

We paused for a minute while I took this panorama.  Thunder clouds were brewing, but the lightning hadn't started yet.  By this point we realized that we weren't going to have as much time at the top as we'd have liked.  A bummer.

All the same, the view from this point is pretty hard to beat.  The summit was so broad that the view is generally limited to which ever side of the summit we were standing on.  This point proabably afforded a better view.

The summit, at just under 12,000 feet, is just a bit to the west of due north.
