Dinosaur & Tree Petrification Site, White Mesa, Utah, USA
Utah

This image was taken at a site that exhibits many cases of wood and dinosaur bone petrification.  The home position of the image shows a large bone half embedded in conglomerate sedimentary rock.  Attempts have failed (so far) to chisel the bone out.

Looking down in the wash-bottom one can see a large petrified tree trunk, also embedded in a conglomerate rock.

There are dozens of other such examples of petrified wood and bone at this site, all within 500 ft of the image location.
