Dunure Castle ruins, Ayrshire
Scotland

The ruins of Dunure Castle perch precariously on a rocky promontory on the shores of the Firth of Clyde, near Ayr. For several centuries the castle was the stronghold of the Kennedy family, the Earls of Cassilis. It has been a substantial ruin since the mid-1700s.
