Dyrhólaey2

Dyrhólaey litterally means "Doorhole Island" in icelandic and refers to the hole carved by the sea.

The mountain is closed part of the year due to many birds breed in the area.

To the West you can see Eyjafjallajökull and to the North Mýrdallsjökull where the mighty vulcano Katla rests.
