Elbrus Saddle 5300 altimeters
Russia

July, 14th 2015, this panoramic image was taken during the ascent to the highest peak of Europe, here at appr. 5.300 altimeters. The weather was clear but cold and just a little windy. Climbers prepare for the last steep incline onto the eastside of the western summit of Mount Elbrus. From this point it is appr. 2,5 hrs. to the summit.

The Mountain is NAMED "the highest in Europe" (geographical, sometimes people call Mont-Blanc the highest in Europe). Elbrus is a volcano and has two summits. Highest point 5.642am is Western, and EAST- summit is 5621am.
