Far View From Atop The Vermilion Cliffs
Arizona
The hike up the East Sand Crack route to the top of the Vermilion Cliffs provides a vast vista House Rock Valley with the Kaibab Plateau in the far distance. The astute viewer, who knows the area, should be able to locate Shinimu Altar about 22 miles away on the Navajo Reservation. The Vermilion Cliffs rise about 1500' (460m) above the plains below in this area.
